So I'm not a huge reader, as I'm way more of a movie person, but if there are any books that I get lost in, self-improvement/spirituality books are my calling. I'm telling you, these 3 books changed my life. They all taught me such valuable lessons, #1 being - happiness comes from within. It doesn't come from money, fame, popularity - yes those things can all help, but you have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with anything else. Another important lesson I learned from reading these books is that you should be less concerned about what other people think about you and more concerned about what you think of yourself. Everyone will have their own opinions about you, but your view on yourself is the only one that matters and is the only one that can be altered. Life is filled with many stresses and ups & downs, but it's important to find an inner-peace within yourself in order to breathe and reboot. The days are long but the years are short so you have to avoid sweating the small stuff and try to enjoy every minute, because time is so precious and shouldn't be wasted. These books all taught me to appreciate the little things in life more. Whether it's a perfectly cooked chocolate chip cookie, a big hug shared with your mom, or spotting a beautiful flower... try to enjoy the simple things in life and take in every moment. It's not all about wanting the next best thing... enjoy here, enjoy now, and most importantly, be present in the moment because today is a gift.
