Daisy Girl

Shirt - Vintage, Shorts - H&M, Shoes - Rachel Roy, Halo - That Madonna Girl

Meet Alyssa... my best friend in the entire world. Alyssa is a writer as well, a lover of fashion, oh and she sure rocks this daisy halo. She recently bought these mod looking yellow wedges... so great for the spring and summer months. This whole shoot reminds me so much of Free People, as it's not too over the top, it's very natural, and it has the perfect bohemian touch. I got this halo in the mail a few weeks ago that I will be wearing to death over the next few months, so beware.

Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday - calls for some cool pics on the blog. From Serena & Blair, to Olivia Palermo, to Alexa Chung, to just any ordinary girl out there in the world - fashion is truly everywhere. Everyone has their own personal style and their own unique touch. All of these pics inspire me and my personal style somehow. From edgy to classic to bold, fun colors to a simple, black & white canvas - fashion is a true form of art and it's our job to paint the canvas with whatever we want. Fashion is creativity, it creates strong emotions, and personal style allows for self-expression.

Pretty in Pink

Sweater - Jil Sander, Shorts - Levi's, Shoes - Bamboo, Sunnies - Vintage
Photos by Hali Garber

Got these pink Levi's at Wasteland... for $25. They were an absolute no-brainer. They are pastel pink high-waisted denim shorts aka they scream me. So I know it's been disgustingly hot out but I really wanted to pair these shorts with this cropped cream Jil Sander sweater. I love cream and pink put together, those were the colors of my bedroom when I was a little girl. Needed a bold accessory with this simple outfit, so I threw on my new leopard printed wedge booties. I think they definitely made the outfit as they are a bold, fun shoe that puts the finishing touch on any ensemble.

So this top and these shorts both belong to Hali - I had so much fun raiding her closet. How cute is this shirt? I'm really loving red lately - note to self : need to invest in more red clothing. Oh and these shorts... I die. I love the little flower pattern on them and the fact that they are stark white makes them really stand out. I have been getting so many compliments on my Lovely People shoes - my obsession with them hasn't died yet if you wanted to know.

After Hours

Button-down - Express, Tank - H&M, Shorts - Helmut Lang, Shoes - Urban Outfitters, Socks - The Sock Drawer

Loving these new Helmut Lang shorts, so retro looking. I don't own a pair of shorts that resemble these, I thought they'd be a nice, different addition to my closet. Helmut Lang designs such elegant yet basic pieces - and the fabric on these is to die for. I'm such a fan of thigh high socks as I love that whole school girl look. I don't know why I don't wear my hair in braids more often... I really should. On that note, I need to learn how to make a fishtail braid asap.

So I wanted to do a little post on movies (tearjerkers to be specific), as I am a huge movie person. I guess you can say I'm a fan of romantic comedies/romantic dramas. Most of my favorite films have been my favorites since I was little, which I think is really special. It's interesting to see how much I've grown and changed every time I watch them. As I get older, I find that I can relate so much more to certain films and those same characters that I've watched for years. I know this sounds odd but I love crying during movies, if they are very heartfelt that is. I think that crying is an emotional bath and it's so healthy for you to take time out of your busy schedule, set aside a few hours for yourself, and watch a classic tearjerker. I promise you will feel so much better after letting all of your emotions out. The pics above are from the films : Eat Pray Love, Nights in Rodanthe, My Girl, Dear John, The Notebook, Titanic, & A Walk to Remember. These are my typical go-to tearjerkers that never fail to get the job done. All I need is a TV, a box of tissues, a comfy bed, & some snacks and I'm in for the night. What are some of your all-time favorite tearjerkers?

Easy Breezy

Tank - H&M, Skirt - Topshop, Shoes - Vintage

First official guest appearance on the blog - meet Hali! Hali and I go way back to elementary school (travel soccer buddies) - you know the deal. What an amazing wardrobe she has, we were like 2 little girls playing dress up (never gets old). She recently got this skirt at Topshop, talk about a chic piece. The color, the fabric, the fall of it - definitely need to go and get it for myself. We had so much fun in her beautiful backyard aka an enchanted garden, no but really. Hali took so many great pics of me in a bunch of different outfits so stay tuned this week to see for yourself! I'm definitely going to start doing more guest appearances with all my friends on the blog as I like changing it up a bit... Xx!

Shirt - Monteau, Skirt - Cheryl Creations, Shoes - Old Navy, Bag - Balenciaga
Photos by Hali Garber

So this shirt is definitely one of my favorite pieces in my closet at the moment. There's so much about it that I love - the stripe pattern, the little black belt that comes attached, and lastly - the peplum. I chose to wear this top with a fitted, elastic skirt in order to play off the proportions & play up my curves. The peplum detail of this shirt mixed with the stripe pattern gives off such a sharp, mod look together. Then again, the peplum detail also gives off that sweet, feminine vibe.. Both sound good to me! I wanted to add some bright hues to this black & white canvas I had going on, so I threw on my lime green Balenciaga and my turquoise flats that have been showing themselves on the blog many times.

Peachy Keen

Shorts - LF, Tank - H&M, Bag - H&M, Shoes - Steve Madden
Photos by Hali Garber

Say hello to the new loves of my life - these shorts. Was in the Hamptons last weekend, walking around LF & once I spotted these, I simply could not leave them. Was deciding between the coral and the mint but I figured coral went more with my skin tone. I know they are super short but they are called "cheekies" so I guess it's acceptable? Whatever, I know I will wear them to the point where it's abusive so I'm not worried.. I'm peachy keen jelly bean (as Rizzo from Grease would say).

Electric Blue

Shirt - Forever 21, Sleeveless Sweater - H&M, Skirt - Cheryl Creations, Shoes - Necessary Clothing, Sunnies - Urban Outfitters
Photos by Brittany Lauricella

How sick is this graffiti wall... had to take pictures in front of it, not to mention it blended together so well with my outfit. So I have this exact skirt in a few different colors (blue, black, pink, & cream) - such an amazing staple to dress up or down. I chose to dress this electric blue skirt down with a comfy but cute T-Shirt from Forever 21. The outfit definitely needed a little more sprucing so I decided to add this light grey sleeveless sweater to this ensemble. Even though I was sweating profusely in it, I think it 100% made the outfit. Wanted to edge this look up a bit so I threw on this chain necklace, spiked bracelet, & a few other cool accessories. Oh and had to top it off with my favorite John Lennon sunnies of course...

By the Bay

Tank - H&M, Shorts - Wildfox, Bag - Marc Jacobs, Chain - American Apparel, Sunnies - H&M, Shoes - Old Navy

This is by far one of my new favorite spots that Brit showed me the other day. I will definitely be coming here more often not just to take pics but to clear my head and do some thinking. So I have been living in these acid washed Wildfox shorts this summer, as they are definitely my go-to pair of denim shorts. I bought this tank at H&M over a year ago and I never wear it but I really do admire the floral print of it and the mix of bright colors it entails. I was in the mall the other night doing my usual browsing and I popped into Old Navy and stumbled upon these coral basketweave peep-toe flats. I love the color and figured they would be a comfortable, everyday flat to wear. They actually just went on sale, be sure to buy yours here! I seriously need to stop shopping for at least a week as I'm spending my entire paycheck on clothes alone...
