Later January!

I'd really love to know where the month of January went... it literally just came and passed like no other. I guess that gives us the reminder that life is short and you have to go after your dreams every day. Living life to the fullest & living in the present moment is my #1. Moving on, I posted a few pics above of some outfit posts from this month.. what are your favorites? Let me know! Still can't believe that month one of 2013 is done (that unintentionally rhymed). Stay tuned as I have many exciting things coming up in February! Carpe Diem ladies! Xx

Pink Flashes

Wearing: Sweater - Acrobat, Skirt - Brandy Melville, Shoes - Shoe Republic LA (gifted), Clutch - Moyna, Sunnies - H&M, Pearls - Party City

Say hello to my little friends! The shoes that is. Shoe Republic LA sent me two amazing pairs of shoes in the mail - these and a great pair of gold wedge sneaks (they'll be showing themselves on the blog sometime this week). Be sure to check out Heels.comLulus.com, and UrbanOG.com to purchase some fabulous shoes by them. These shown above are the Dorians in Berry - how adorable? I just love the pattern on them and the fact that they are so colorful (they'll definitely be making some heads turn). Take a look at the Shoe Republic LA website here! What do you guys think of these? I'm a big fan as I think it's so important to have some statement shoes that will do all of the talking. I mean, these beauties really make any outfit pop - score! Thank you again Shoe Republic LA... love me some goodies!! Xx, A.

So What I'm an Addict?

Wearing: Shirt - Wildfox, Coat - Forever 21, Hat - Headlines, Jeans - Superfine

So this Wildfox T-Shirt basically describes myself in one word: Addict (french fry that is). No, but actually. French fries are hands down my favorite food, ever since I was a little girl. My dad came home with this shirt for me a while back, as he spotted it and simply could not resist - after all, I am known for lovin' my fries... who doesn't though? Speaking of love, my obsession with this faux fur cheetah print coat is on another level right now, as I recently got inspired by watching the lovely Sienna Miller as Edie Sedgwick in "Factory Girl." She surely killed it in that piece throughout the film. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you watch it ASAP! Talk about 1960's fashion - pure epicness.

Pumped Up Kicks

These running sneakers are honestly so chic in my eyes... I think I like them way better than the Isabel Marant wedge sneakers that have become so mainstream lately. These are definitely a throwback to days in elementary school when we had to wear sneakers on PE days (I know I rocked my Nike kicks). I even love some of the New Balance sneakers that are shown on ASOS here. Not only are shoes like these so comfortable to walk in all day long, but they really dress down any outfit you have on with a sleek, sporty chic touch. Be sure to get your hands on a pair of these... you'll certainly be making a fashion statement. Oh and those girls in painful stiletto heels will wish they were you.

Barack Your Body

Wearing: Shirt - Urban Outfitters, Leggings - H&M, Sweater - Brandy Melville, Shoes - TOMS

Hello from FIDM! Allison snapped these few pics of me today as we were heading off campus for some lunch. I just have to say that FIDM is honestly the most inspiring place I've ever been to.. I can just feel the creative juices flowing through my veins. You know back in high school when you wanted to look super trendy but didn't want to look ridiculously decked just for school.. well FIDM surely solves that issue! It's now officially acceptable to wear whatever you want to school - whether you're feeling Blair Waldorf inspired and want to wear tailored dresses & floral bubble skirts or if you just want to throw on a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Litas with a knotted up maxi skirt - whatever your heart desires! I'm definitely more of a laid-back, casual dressed kind of girl - I guess that means LA has gotten the best of me, but I've decided that I'm going to start dressing up a little more for school - it's the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, why shouldn't I take more risks? Just had to mention this amazing knit that I just purchased from Brandy Melville, it's the coziest thing in life and you have to admit, it's super cute. I will forever be living in this piece. Well I'm off to go drown in projects on projects, thanks to FIDM... wish me luck!

Reality TV - Yay or Nay?

Reality television - something we are all guilty of. I'm glad to say that I only watch one reality TV show on a regular basis, and that's the Kardashians. Come on, who doesn't love them? I really find most reality TV shows to be nauseating, but these girls will never fail to keep me entertained. I mean if I'm on the plane and nothing else is on, I'll sometimes settle with The Real Housewives (until I get sick of the bitch fighting, which doesn't take very long). Americans are so obsessed with reality shows these days, it's almost unhealthy. I know I'm guilty of it to some extent, but it's such a waste of time when you think about it. It's basically all drama related & we (the audience) are just flies on the wall, getting a glimpse into people's personal lives, when we should really be focusing on our own. I'd love to know, what are your thoughts on reality TV? Do you think they're a contributing factor to society's downfall? Some say it destroys our minds, yay or nay?

Harley Girl

Wearing: Sweatshirt - Vintage, Jeans - Vintage, Sunnies - Urban Outfitters, Heels - Zara

So this was my dad's Harley Davidson sweatshirt that I stole (whoops), it's okay though because he has so many. I took it and made it my own by cutting it off the shoulder... it's amazing what a pair of scissors can do. It's so cozy, I never want to take it off (like ever). He actually has a Harley Davidson motorcycle himself... I grew up riding it all the time (with him driving it that is). I would sit behind him, holding on for dear life. I guess that would make me a true harley girl right? There's no better feeling than riding on the back of a motorcycle, what a thrill. Onto my lovely feet... I am absolutely loving these Zara heels that I recently got my hands on... they're so comfortable & oh so chic (simply can't get enough of them). They add a touch of elegance to every outfit, especially this one as they completely dress up a pair of boyfriend jeans & a sweatshirt. Perfection in my eyes. Can you believe it's almost the end of January already? Slow down 2013, will ya?

Floral Fetish

Wearing: Sweater - Wildfox, Shorts - Mink Pink, Bag - Alexander Wang, Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell, Sunnies - Karen Walker

Haven't done a guest post on one of my friends in a while! I love doing guest posts on different people because I feel that it's good to change it up and see what others bring to the table. This is my friend, Allison, who I just recently met at FIDM... we're both majoring in Visual Communications and are loving it so far!! You should all check out her amazing Youtube channel here! I'd like to call her a "vlogger," as she makes videos of fashion hauls, outfit of the days, how she styles different pieces, & more! She def inspired me to want to incorporate videos into my blog, so that's something I'll be working on soon!

So we spent a lovely saturday in beautiful Santa Monica - doing what we do best, shopping (obviously). I swear it felt like summer, everyone was out and about, trying to enjoy the winter sun, and take it all in. Gotta love this California weather... it's hands down the best (sorry New York, you know I still love ya)! Aren't you obsessed with this Wildfox sweater? I knew right when I saw it, it had to go up on the blog! It's the perfect piece to throw on for an Indian Summer day, as it's so lightweight and dainty. Umm, this bag. Pretty sure it's been on my wish list for too long now... Alexander Wang, you always manage to kill it.

Winter Sun

Wearing: Shirt - Daydreamer LA, Jacket - Forever 21, Skirt - Brandy Melville, Bag - Vintage, Shoes - Old Navy, Sunnies - Urban Outfitters

80 degree winter weather in Los Angeles this weekend... nothin' beats it! Now that's what I like to call some winter sun. I've been indulging myself with an unhealthy amount of Brandy Melville clothes lately, thanks to them opening a store right by my apartment. This skirt being one of my favorite purchases... it's such a great basic piece to own, and the slit detail makes it super sexy in my opinion. I don't know about you guys (if you're familiar with LA) but Santa Monica is by far my favorite part of the city. You can be shopping away in the Third Street Promenade (best outdoor mall there is), laying out on the beach while soaking up the sun, riding the roller coaster on the pier, surfing the waves (not me personally), bike riding on the boardwalk... the list is really endless. Happy Monday everyone, hope it's a great week! Xx

Big Apple vs. City of Angels

So since I'm a bicoastal girl, I figured I'd do a post on New York fashion & street style vs. Los Angeles fashion & street style. NYC and LA are two of the biggest fashion capitals in the world. I am a true New Yorker at heart because that's where I was born and raised, but I must admit that I am a much bigger fan of LA style. It's way more carefree, easy, and relaxed - which is so me. The fashion on the west coast definitely goes along with the lifestyle, as it's so laid back and chill. New York is so fast-paced and the fashion is definitely more edgy and more contrived there. I posted 3 pics above of street style in Los Angeles and I posted 3 pics below of street style in New York City. You can definitely notice the difference, as the girls above look more casual and effortless and the girls below all look more accessorized, more decked, and more formal. I always try to incorporate both looks into my personal style... Which are you a fan of - NY tough or LA cool?

January 17, 2013

Hey guys! So I recently started a collaboration with the California based company & online fashion store Modocat. Camoed Out

Wearing: Pants - Brandy Melville, Shirt - The Row, Sweater - No name, Necklace - Forever 21, Clutch - Jalda, Shoes - Forever 21

'Tis the season to get camoed out people! Come on, I think we can all agree that these killer camo prints have surely been killin' it lately... us fashionistas got nothing on the military. I'm obsessed with these leggings that I recently purchased from the one & only Brandy Melville. They're super stretchy and so comfortable, I know I'll be wearing them like it's my job.. no, but actually. This sweater is so mushy & sexy, it's the perfect shade of olive green to match a camo print, check! It's hand knit crochet and it's just the best throw on piece to pair with any outfit. Love this Jalda croc clutch, I've had it for awhile now, it's so incredibly chic & just goes with it all, I'd give it a solid A+ in my books. I know that cams are so in right now, but I look at them as a universal print that will always be in style. Once a camo girl, always a camo girl!
